Cartoon & Comic Art for Teens

The comics industry has been going strong for almost a century, and cartoons even longer! In this class we'll be starting from the beginning: we'll deal with character design, story writing, page layouts, lettering, inking, as well as a number of other issues that come up in the creation and production of comics. Students will produce their own short comics and collaborate with one another the way the pros do. Supply list will be provided upon enrollment.

Come enjoy an afternoon of creating handmade bookmarks or stickers. Children will be given a selection of card stock to work from to create vibrant layered images for bookmarks or sticker sized art works. Create beautiful pieces that can be enjoyed for years to come.

"Off the Page: A Morning with Charles Todd" at the Hockessin Public Library

Caroline and Charles Todd (writing as Charles Todd) will appear in Hockessin to talk about their work and sign copies of their newest book, A Lonely Death.

A Lonely Death, released in January, is the 13th book in the Todds' Ian Rutledge mystery series. The novel explores the effects of bullying and how the results of constant harassment can lead to the ultimate revenge. The New York Times Book Review wrote, "The tragic sweep of Charles Todd's historical mysteries grows more expansive with each successive novel in his stunning series."
