First State Children's Theater: Radio Days Summer Camp!

Radio Days is a weekly summer theater experience committed to young people expressing themselves more fully by challenging them to bring to life classic stories with their own voices.

Each week campers create, rehearse and record a different 45 minute radio drama, playing all the characters and creating all the sound effects. Their pre-recorded radio play is then aired Sunday mornings on WVUD 91.3fm.

Radio Days Summer Theater Camp enrollment is limited to 11 (eleven) young people per week. This allows each young actor to receive individual attention and coaching, while being part of an exciting, dynamic ensemble. The small group size also allows many campers to possibly portray two, three, four, and sometimes, five or more different characters.

Offering 12 different week long sessions this summer from June 9-August 29, 2008, children will
spend one week rehearsing and recording a radio play adapted from a book of classic literature. This year's titles include: "The Prince and the Pauper," "The Wizard of Oz," and "Anne of Avonlea."

Ages:
Entering 3rd through 10th grades.
Campers divided by age groupings.

HOURS:
Monday - Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm.
Rain or shine.

LOCATION:
Perkins Student Center
University of Delaware campus
325 Academy Street
Newark, DE 19716

TUITION:
