Home School Praise Chorus is dedicated to the glory of God and the musical instruction of home schooled children. The chorus is open to all home schooled children ages 7 and up. It is necessary for the choir and the child that they are already strong readers (2nd grade) when joining. Interviews will be held for each member (old & new) to allow the director, Regina Ontjes, to meet each child and assess their strengths. This will take place on Sept 4th & 5th from 1:00-4:00p.m. at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church. There is a possibility that a child is not yet ready and will be placed “on hold” for a semester after which time they would again meet with the director.
The chorus performs sacred, classical, traditional and patriotic chorus music. The chorus meets at the Brandywine Valley Baptist Church on Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington DE next to the YMCA.
It is now time to register your child for the Fall Session. The cost will be $40.00 per child.
Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays, 3:15 to 4:30, starting date September 11th.
The chorus will hold a Family Concert Thursday November 29th and service concerts will be scheduled in the weeks following the family concert. If your child will be unable to attend any of these concerts please notify Regina immediately as she needs this information when assigning parts.
Please bring an accordion type file with sides (or something similar) for music the first day of practice. Please do not bring a pocket folder as the music tends to fall out of these easily.
