The deadline to register children for the Brandywine School District's new Summer Stock Theatre Program has been extended to May 30!

The program will be held June 23 through July 25, from 1:30 to 5:00 pm at Mount Pleasant High School, and is open to all children entering the fourth grade through the age of 18, inside AND outside the district. Homeschoolers included!

The program will be run by local theater professionals who have extensive experience directing and choreographing productions at schools, community theatres, and professional theaters.

Auditions will be held May 31, June 2, and June 3 so the directors can meet the registering children in advance.
All who audition will be accepted!

Participating students will learn acting, singing, dancing, stagecraft, set design, make-up, and costumes, and at the end of the five weeks, will put on four public performances of:
"Bye Bye Birdie"

There is one area that needs a bit more attention. Specifically with those students involved in the performing arts. There are so many talented students from schools across the State, the time has arrived for "theatre" to finally takes its place in the spotlight... and on center stage!

Join us this June to experience our inaugural production, LES MISÉRABLES® SCHOOL EDITION up close and personal.

Creativity and Communications Workshop at Open Connections

The Open Connections Process for Creativity and Communications Workshop
June 16 through 19
9:15am – 2:15pm each day

For four days in June, adults interested in learning more about the OC approach to education have a chance to develop their Process Consciousness and practice the skills that improve communication and creativity.

Parents and other educators will learn to identify ways of thinking and speaking that dramatically increase the probability of success in any interpersonal exchange. They'll hear how to turn conflicts into creative problem-solving sessions, even between four year olds; how to end whining; how to reverse the stressful effects of competition and replace them with the joys of collaboration; how to avoid the game of Rescue and replace it with a positive form of helping; how to set boundaries that will be honored; and how to nurture self-motivation and stop feeding complacency and unproductive dependence.

Tuition for the workshop is $250.
