Beyond Words: The Symbolic Language of Plants at the Delaware Art Museum!

This exhibition features approximately 40 works of art by 17 artists known as Studio 155, a group of Washington, D.C.- based artists who work together and individually to expand their visions of the natural world through botanical art. Part of the Museum’s Outlooks Exhibition Series, this exhibition will feature images of plants based on the historical symbolism of plants throughout history.

Annual Bonsai Show at Brandywine River Museum!

June 2 & 3
9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
 
An outstanding selection of bonsai (ornamental trees and shrubs whose growth is trained using an ancient Japanese craft) will be on display in the Brandywine River Museum Courtyard.  Members of the Brandywine Bonsai Society will be present to demonstrate training techniques and answer questions regarding special care of the trees.  

Included with general museum admission:
$12 for adults
$8 for senior citizens
$6 for students
Free for children under six
Free for Brandywine Conservancy members

Summer Art Camp Programs at the DCCA!

Six Sessions: June 25 - August 10
Registration Deadline June 1st
Space is limited!
Ages 4 - 15

The DCCA will offer weekly camps from June 25 through August 10, 2012 for ages 4 - 15.  Children will work with professionally trained Teaching Artists and have full access to DCCA galleries. Campers will explore contemporary takes on a number of art themes, including technology, language, and innovative materials. Optional weekly pre-camp (8 - 10 am) and post-camp (4 - 6 pm) sessions are available for an additional fee.

Need-based scholarships are available for all camp sessions
