DSF offers apprenticeships for college students who wish to start their careers before graduation. Apprentices work with the Festival's professional directors, actors, designers, and staff to gain hands-on experience both on and off the stage. DSF offers performance, production, stage management, and front-of-house apprenticeships. All apprentices will be offered a series of Master Classes and will work side-by-side with the professional DSF technical staff to perform set-up and strike duties each day of tech and performances. Modest stipend. College credit may be available.

Students and parents will benefit from this 90-minute workshop featuring Kristi Morgridge, a Settlement Music School Advanced Study alumna and Associate Director of Recruitment and Financial Aid at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance.

Participants will receive a number of evaluation tools that will help families set and meet their unique priorities in the college decision. The workshop will address questions such as, “What are the differences between public and private universities?” “How do I know how much I can afford in student loans?” and “Is it necessary to go to a big-name school?”

Presentation on College Admissions for Homeschoolers at Open Connections

Open Connections will be providing an opportunity for homeschooled teens and their parents to learn about the College Admissions process.

* Learn what colleges are looking for in perspective students, from the viewpoint of a former college admissions officer!

*Hear from other grown homeschoolers who have recently completed the admissions process and are now either current college students or college graduates!

* Become more familiar with the admissions process itself!

If you or your teen have such questions as "how do teens handle the transition from homeschooling to college," or "how do I communicate my high school academic background and achievements in my application?" this event will offer you the opportunity to get these questions (and many more!) answered.
