September Field Trip Details

“Prime Time at Prime Hook”
9:00am – 1:00pm

Meet at Prime Hook headquarters at 9:00am.

September is a perfect time to visit this gorgeous National Wildlife Refuge.
Search for shorebirds, swallows, waterfowl and birds of prey. Learn to use a spotting scope and receive checklists and notebooks for your upcoming adventures!

Please bring:
*a hearty lunch
*water bottle
*binoculars (or borrow ours)
*sunscreen
*light jacket
*baseball cap

If desired also bring:
a camera, insect repellent

Basic Driving Directions
Follow Delaware 1 south through Milford.
Look for traffic light at intersection of Route 1 and Route 16. (Brown refuge signs are posted)
Turn left onto Route 16 East toward Broadkill Beach. At 1.1 miles from traffic light, turn left onto Turkle Pond Road.
Follow Turkle Pond Road 1.6 miles to office/visitor center.
