The comics industry has been going strong for almost a century, and cartoons even longer! In this class we'll be starting from the beginning: we'll deal with character design, story writing, page layouts, lettering, inking, as well as a number of other issues that come up in the creation and production of comics. Students will produce their own short comics and collaborate with one another the way the pros do. Supply list will be provided upon enrollment.
Taught by Rebecca Morgan

Intro to Improv: Young Teen Class

October 30 to November 20th
(4 Saturdays)
3-4pm
Ages 13-15
$32 members/$35 non-members
Improv is like skydiving: it looks terrifying, but once you do it, you never get over the thrill! This class is designed to introduce and implement the basic rules of improv. The structure provided by these rules allow us to successfully build scenes through short-form games, creating, accepting, and building on the suggestions of the group or the audience. Improvisational theatre is a wonderful way in which to develop social skills centered on teamwork, focus, creativity, and enthusiasm. The final class will be open to parents who wish to observe their child’s work in an informal performance-geared session.
