Audition for Pillow Play at the Wilmington Drama League ~ "Happily Never After"

Audition Dates

Saturday, January 30th
1pm – 4pm

Tuesday, February 2nd
6:30pm – 9pm

Performance Schedule:
April 10 - 10 am and 2 pm at WDL,
April 11 - 2 pm at Mary Campbell Center
April 17 - 2 pm in Newark at Newark Library

Director Eric Merlino seeks kids for this short play, which will be produced in the Drama League lobby and other local venues.

No preparation is necessary,
readings will be from the script.

The course of true love never runs smoothly. Consequently a marriage counselor has opened an office in the kingdom to see how famous fairy tale couples are faring. Everywhere the counselor looks--disaster! Sleeping Beauty will do nothing but nap; the Frog Prince refuses to give up his amphibian ways; and nothing will pry Cinderella away from her beloved cinders. Naturally, the spouses are complaining, and there is no choice but to rewrite the endings of the famous stories. Everyone is run through the computer for new matches. While the results are not exactly pleasing to the newlyweds, they're hilarious to audiences young and old. Finally, even the counselor himself admits he needs help!

Pillow Plays are short plays geared toward kids. They are presented in WDL lobby with a cast of kids and teenagers, and help introduce live theatre to young audiences. The plays are then taken on the road and performed at the Mary Campbell Center, the Newark Library, and other local venues.

The Pillow Plays are FREE; however, any donation to the Wilmington Drama League is graciously accepted, and will help us continue our mission of providing excellent theatre to the community.
