Art for Father’s Day Workshop
Sunday, June 13
12-2pm
Ages 5-7 yrs. old.
Children can create unique gifts for Father’s Day by painting keepsake boxes, picture frames, and making change dishes out of shimmering polymer clay. They will also make a card to go with their special gifts.

Mini Ribbon Purses Friday Night Art Date
June 18, Friday
6-9pm
Ages 9-11.
Purses fit for a fairy! Make small purses out of ribbon and beads. They can then be converted into necklaces or keychains. Class includes a pizza dinner, for a total “date” experience.

Pretty in Pink Camp
June 21-25
Monday-Friday
9am-12pm
Ages 6-9.
Students will enjoy making jewelry, painting doily canvas bags, decorating fabulous foot wear, painting tea cups, making jewelry boxes and more! Bring a snack/drink for a break.

Beaded Friday Night Art Date
June 25, Friday
6-8:30pm
Ages 9-12.
Make beautiful beaded bracelets with hanging charms. Kids will learn how to finish off the bracelet with a clasp and how to use headpins to attach charms. Grown up jewelry with a kid-flair! We’ll also serve a pizza dinner. Great class for friends to take together. Fee includes supplies and food.

Kid's Clay Camp
July 5-19
3 Mondays
9am-12pm
Ages 8-12.
Make something useful. Make something fun. You will use clay and polymer clay to make really cool stuff. You will make a bowl that you can eat from, a small tray, a sculpture and more! We will supply a snack or you may bring your own.

The Color of Water: Mixing Art and Science
July 7 & 14,
2 Wednesdays, 9am-3pm
Ages 9-12.
Students will travel to the property of artist Jamie Wyeth (border of PA and DE) and explore the beach along the Brandywine River. They will search for life, make identifications and sketch/paint observations in pen, pencil and watercolor use wet and dry brush techniques. They will be given a tour of Wyeth's on-site gallery and see farm animals on the property. The following week students will work at the NAA and will use their beachcombing treasures from the previous week to create growth pattern shell designs using markers and oil pastels. Students should bring a bag lunch each day.

Mommy and Me Art Class
July 10-24, 11am-12pm,
3 Saturdays
Ages 4-5
Parent and child will make art together in this first introduction to basic art techniques. We'll use pastels, tempera paint and model magic clay to make colorful works of art that will inspire you to continue your art exploration at home. Daddy's and grandparents welcome too! Fee includes child accompanied by one adult.

“Where the Wild Things Are”
Soft Sculpture Workshop
July 10-17, 1-3pm,
2 Saturdays
Ages 10 to Adult
Join the craze and make your own, soft, stuffed monsters, thingys, animals or people. We’ll draft patterns from our own crazy drawings and pick from a variety of felts, furs and printed fleeces to hand sew our buddy together. We’ll embellish with buttons, yarn, sequins, beads and markers, then stuff it. Basic hand sewing skills helpful but not necessary. This is a great class to take with a friend or a parent/child combo. All materials provided.

Drum Rhythms for Everyone!
July 10, Saturday, 2-3:30pm
(one day workshop)
Ages 8-12
Learn to recognize and play basic Middle Eastern rhythms. The class will teach basic rhythms such as Baladi, Chifitelli and Malfuf, which can be, used in drum circles as well as at Middle Eastern belly dance events. Students will practice with drums and other instruments, as well as clapping. We will also listen to some recorded music and pick out the rhythm used. Bring any percussion instrument, or a melody instrument you know well. No previous music training is needed. There will be printed information and some drums to borrow.

Sensational Scrapbooking Camp
July 12-16,
9am-12pm, Mon.-Fri.
Ages 11-14
Students will bring in their favorite photographs and gain basic skills in scrapbooking as they create their own personalized pages! They will learn how to choose a focal point photo, layer, edge, add embellishments, and write labels to capture fun memories.

Monsters, Aliens, Creepy Crawlies and more!
July 13-16,
9am-12pm,
Tues.-Fri., 4 days.
Ages 8-12.
Make paper maché monsters, paint out of this world aliens, sculpt creepy crawlies, and make surreal collages with animal and bug parts.

Around the World With Art
July 20-23,
9am-12pm,
Tues.-Fri., 4 days.
Explore art from different cultures and try different mediums with each project. We'll travel to Egypt to make cartouches, to Mexico to make Huichol yarn art, to Japan to make Gyotaku fish prints and to France to make Impressionist paintings.

Mini-Masterpieces Friday Night Art Date
July 23, Friday
6-9pm
Ages 7-11.
Make a date with art! Discover the artist within. Come join us in painting up to four mini-canvases with acrylic paint. Students will receive a mini-easel to display their artwork on. Class includes a pizza dinner, for a total “date” experience.

Camp Imagine

July 26-Aug. 6,
9am-4:15pm, M-F (10 days total)
Ages 7-11.
Children work in groups of 12 or less and enjoy 3 hrs. of visual arts, and one hour each of modern dance (includes some hip-hop), a’cappela singing and theater (includes improvisation.). Professional artists are sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm with interesting projects and routines. No experience necessary in any of the art forms, just a desire to be creative! There will be an art exhibit and performance on the last day of camp. Bring a morning snack and lunch, we will provide afternoon treat. This camp has been offered for over 10 years and has many repeat students.
$400 for two weeks
Scholarships are available for low-income families.

Pirate’s Cove Saturday Night Art Date
July 31, Saturday
6-8:30pm
Ages 7-10.
Ahoy, maties! Come make an authentic looking treasure map, metallic clay coins and a hand painted treasure box. Everything a pirate needs for a hardy day of discovery! Class includes a pizza dinner, for a total “date” experience.

Ages 10-14
Capture those wonderful summer memories with a mix of fine art and craft projects. Make sea-shell picture frames, watercolors of beach scenes, sunflower polymer clay beaded bracelets and more!
